Map over the North Atlantic with storm tracks crossing Bergen.

Preliminary program

A preliminary program for the workshop is now available! We are looking forward to seeing you all in Rosendal!

Workshop scope and themes

The Stormtracks 2025 Workshop focuses on understanding observed and simulated storm track dynamics as well as the responses and impacts due to decadal variability as well as climate change, thus advancing storm track predictability. Additional topics of interest are the role of diabatic processes and air-sea interaction for storm tracks, the role of storm tracks in the planet’s energy balance, and bridging between weather and climate, including links between storm tracks and weather extremes. We also welcome presentations addressing recent and upcoming field campaigns and new dynamical insights from Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
